What happens if my business account is unverified?
When your business is not yet verified, you can still accept payments through Titus. However, payouts will be temporarily held until verification is complete.
Why verification is required
To safely process payments and comply with financial regulations, we are required to verify the identity of every business using Titus.
This includes confirming details like:
- Business name
- Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Ownership and entity information
These checks help prevent fraud, protect customers, and ensure funds are handled securely.
What happens while you are unverified
- You can continue offering pay at close
- Payments will still be collected from customers
- Transactions will appear in your dashboard as pending
- Payouts will not be released until verification is complete
What “pending” means
“Pending” means the funds have been successfully collected but are temporarily held.
Once your business is verified:
- All pending payouts will be released
- Future payouts will process as normal
Are my funds secure?
Yes. All funds collected while your account is unverified are secure and held safely.
They will either:
- Be released to you once verification is complete, or
- Returned to the customer if verification cannot be completed
How long verification takes
Most verifications are completed within 1 business day.
In some cases, it may take longer if:
- Additional review is required
- Information cannot be automatically verified
- We need more documentation from you
What can delay verification
Verification may take longer if:
- The business name and TIN don’t match official records
- The business is newly registered
- There are discrepancies in submitted information
- Additional documentation is required
If needed, our team will reach out to you directly.
