Can I require specific signers on a proposal?

You can assign each signature block in a proposal to a specific person by entering their full name and email address. This creates a clear record of exactly who signed the proposal instead of using generic signature lines.

How to Set Up Named Signers

  1. Open the proposal editor.
  2. Add a signature block for each person who needs to sign. Proposals support up to five signature blocks.
  3. Enter each signer's full name and email address in their assigned signature block.
  4. Send the proposal.

Each assigned signer is automatically included on the proposal email and any reminder emails, so there's no need to forward the proposal manually.

What Signers Experience

After signing, each signer receives a confirmation showing:

  • Their signature has been recorded.
  • Which signatures are still outstanding.

The confirmation page automatically updates as additional people sign, so signers don't need to refresh the page to see when the proposal is fully executed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to proposals I've already sent?

Previously sent proposals continue to work exactly as they did before. Named signers only apply to proposals created after this feature is available.

Can one person sign on behalf of everyone?

No. Each assigned signer must sign their own designated signature block. This ensures your proposal includes an accurate record of who reviewed and agreed to the document.
