Card application troubleshooting

If you applied to accept card payments, it's possible that our underwriters have asked for more information to approve your application. 

Here are some common issues along with tips on how to resolve them:

Business address is a personal address

Our underwriters prefer to see a business address that is different from your personal address.

If you operate out of a personal address:

  • Please note that in the Business Description field on page 1 of the application
  • This address much match the address entered on page 2 of the application for the business owner
  • You will need to provide a utility bill or some other form of mail in the company name that is addressed to your personal address

P.O. boxes and registered agent addresses are not allowed.

Doing business as (dba) name different from legal name

If your legal business name is different from your dba name, our underwriters will require a Fictitious Business Name filing or a verified name changed filed with the IRS. 

Personal bank account is business bank account

If you are a sole proprietorship, and the business is listed in your name, our underwriters will accept a personal bank account as a business bank account.

If you operate as an LLC, or under a Fictitious Business name, a business banking account in the company name is required.
