How do I cancel a denied loan application and start over?

If your Pay at Close application is denied and you want to start over — for example, by applying with a different property or correcting information on the application — you may be able to cancel the denied application directly from the denial screen.

Where the cancel option appears

The cancel option may appear at the end of the denial flow in several Titus payment experiences, including:

  • Standard pay flows
  • Checkout
  • Invoice payments
  • Authorization flows
  • The agent listing dashboard

This option is only available for certain denial reasons where reapplying may still be possible, such as:

  • Applying with a different property
  • Correcting inaccurate application details

If the denial is considered final, the cancel option will not appear.

What happens after cancelling

After cancelling the denied application, Titus will return you to the appropriate starting point for the flow you were using. From there, you can begin a new application.

Your original denied application will remain on file for recordkeeping purposes, but it will no longer prevent you from creating a new application.

Why don’t I see a cancel option?
The availability of the cancel option depends on the reason your application was denied. If the option is not shown, the denial is considered final and another application for the same property is unlikely to be approved. If you believe the denial was made in error, please contact Titus Support.

Will cancelling affect my credit?
No. Cancelling a denied application does not trigger a new credit inquiry or change any previous credit checks. It simply updates the application status to cancelled.

Can I cancel an active application that hasn’t been denied?
Yes, but active applications follow a different cancellation process. Please contact Titus Support or the business you applied through for assistance.
