Titus merchant fees, processing times and payout speed
When a customer pays a Titus proposal or invoice, they can choose from three payment options: Card, ACH (bank transfer), or Pay at Close. Each option has a different fee, processing flow, and payout timeline. Here's what to expect for each.
Card Payments
|
Business fee |
2.69% + $0.30 per transaction |
|
Processing time |
Transactions are grouped into a daily accrual window. Payouts for that window are approved and sent the following business day (around 1:00 PM ET). |
|
Payout speed |
Payouts are only sent on business days — transactions made Friday–Sunday or over a holiday are sent the next business day. Once sent, deposit timing depends on your bank; most post the same day, though it can take up to 24 hours. |
The fee is deducted automatically before your payout is issued, so the amount you receive is net of the card fee.
ACH Payments (Bank Transfer)
|
Business fee |
0.8% of the transaction, capped at $5 |
|
Processing time |
Payment is collected via direct bank transfer (ACH) rather than a card network. |
|
Payout speed |
Payouts are set at T + 3 business days — funds are sent 3 business days after the transaction date. Once sent, actual deposit timing also depends on how quickly your bank processes incoming ACH transfers. |
ACH is generally the lowest-cost option for larger invoices, since the fee is capped rather than scaling with the transaction amount. Please see additional notes on ACH below.
Pay at Close Payments
|
Business fee |
3.99% fee on all Pay at Close transactions |
|
Processing time |
You're paid up front as soon as the transaction is approved — the customer repays Titus later, at closing or within 6 months, whichever comes first. |
|
Payout speed |
Payout is initiated within one hour via ACH bank transfer, sent Monday–Friday during business hours. Transactions after hours, on a weekend, or on a holiday are sent the next business day. Once sent, deposit depends on your bank's ACH processing — often real-time, sometimes up to 24 hours. |
There are no setup fees, monthly fees, or long-term contracts for offering Pay at Close.
Note: Customers may also see a separate borrower fee depending on their state and credit profile — this is charged to the customer, not the business.

All payout timelines assume your bank account is connected and verified in your Titus account settings. Actual deposit timing depends on your bank's own processing speed.
Why ACH Takes Longer
- Batch processing: Banks bundle ACH requests into groups. They only send these bundles to the clearing house a few times a day.
- Two clearing routes: Money travels through the Federal Reserve or the National Automated Clearing House Association (Nacha). This multi-step route adds handling time.
- No immediate verification: The network cannot instantly check if a bank account has enough money. It takes days to find out if an ACH payment will bounce.
- Fraud protection: Banks deliberately delay ACH transfers to give both sides time to flag unauthorized or accidental transactions.
