What are proposals?

Proposals are a way to send a client everything they need all in one flow. Send your proposal, contract for e-signatures, scope of work and an invoice through one system. No more jumping between multiple apps.

How a proposal works

A proposal walks your client through a single flow: they open a link, review what you're offering, agree to your terms, sign, and pay their deposit. The moment they accept and pay, the proposal is finalized and a signed PDF is saved for both of you.

Behind the scenes, a proposal sits on top of an invoice. The proposal is the presentation and signing layer your client sees; the invoice handles the money, line items, deposits, discounts, renewals, and any incidentals. You don't have to manage those two things separately. When a client accepts a proposal, the invoice is already in place.

What's in a proposal

Every proposal is built from sections you can turn on, turn off, and reorder:

  • A cover (splash) section that introduces you and the project. You can hide this if you'd rather lead with something else.
  • Line items are the services you're quoting, added by hand or pulled from your saved catalog.
  • Optional add-ons your client can choose to include before they accept.
  • Your deposit and any discount for the deal.
  • A contract section your client signs.
  • An FAQ section for the questions clients ask most.

A few things to know

You create one proposal per project. A proposal is meant to capture a single engagement with a client from first offer through signed agreement.

You can send the proposal to clients, either the listing agent or the homeowner, or both.

You can keep editing a proposal right up until your client accepts, declines, or you void it. Once it's accepted, it's locked as the agreed-upon version.

FAQ

Do I need to create an invoice separately?
No. The invoice is built as part of the proposal. When your client accepts, the invoice is already there.

Can I send more than one proposal for the same project?
Each project has one proposal. If you need to start over, you can clone an existing proposal into a fresh draft.

Can my client choose what they want to include?
Yes, if you add optional add-ons. Your client can select these optional add-ons before they accept, and the invoice total updates automatically.
